1. HOW MANY PANELS DO I NEED
Measure the width and height of each wall you are covering. The maximum height that can be covered with a single panel is 2800mm,unless you decide to include a join. For Classic Panels, divide the width of the wall by 195mm. Divide the width by 150mmif you are installing Column Panels, etc. For example with Classic Panels, if the height of the wall is 2700mm and the width is 3600mm, dividing it by 195mm gives 18.46, so you would need 19 pieces.
2.HOW DO I INSTALL THE PANELS? CAN I DO IT MYSELF?
We recommend using a professional installer. Please contact us to get your preferred supplier in your area. If you are comfortable with DIY, simply follow the installation instructions and video.
3: What are the panels made of? Do they contain asbestos?
The main component of our panels is calcium silicate. Testing has confirmed that they do not contain methanol or asbestos.
4. What is the fire hazard rating of the panels?
Decordas panels passed the AS ISO 9705-2003 (R2016) Fire tests as a Group 1 building material, which means that they can be used in most internal areas, except to be used as fire rated boundary wall by its own, more detail please check your local compliance requirements.
5.Can Decordas panels be used externally?
Unfortunately, our panels cannot be used outdoors. They can however be installed as balcony and patio ceilings where there is no risk of direct exposure to the elements.
6.Can the panels be used in bathrooms?
Yes. Note that the bathroom floor must be waterproof.
7.Can panels be installed horizontally?
Yes, up to a maximum width of 2800mm. Areas larger than this will require aluminum panel joiners.
8.How do I seal panel edges?
You can use plaster filler, or matching colour’s silicone sealant such as No More Gaps gap filler, depending on your design.
9.What tools should I use to cut the panels?
We recommend circular saws, jigsaws and any other woodworking saws. Thinner blades will give provide better edge finish.
10.Can Decordas panels be installed directly on timber or metal frames?
Yes. except to be used as fire rated boundary wall by its own.
11.How can I clean the panels?
All panels can be cleaned with wet cloth using water, with or without normal detergent. Do not use methylated spirits.
12:How should I hang pictures on Decordas panels?
The panel surfaces have a strong bond and do not peel off easily. We recommend using double-sided adhesive tape to hang pictures without damaging the panels. Nails and screws might need depending on the picture’s weight, check double-sided adhesive tape instruction as well.
13.Can I repaint the Decordas panels in the future?
Yes our products can be repainted after applying special primer, but any of the timber grains or textures on our current products will be covered by new paint. For further detail please contact us or your local paint specialist.
